These extinguishers are red in colour, but are identified by a blue band at the top of the
extinguisher. They're designed to put out fires involving petrol, oil, paints, paper, wood
and textiles. They should never be used on electrical fires.
Dioxide Fire extinguishers
(2kg,3.5kg,and 5kg) These extinguishers are red in colour with a black band around the
top. They are designed for electrical fires. eg Switch boards, electric motors, air
conditioners, ovens. Where ever electrically energised equipment is used. They're not
suitable for outside use.
Powder Fire Extinguishers Powder Fire
Extinguishers. These extinguishers are red in colour, but have a white band at the top.
They are regarded as a Universal fire extinguisher in that they can put out all types of
fires from electrical, paper, wood, oil and fuel. The fine powder absorbs the fuel
molecules, depriving the fire of a fuel source.
Chemical Fire Extinguishers (Available
in 2litres and 9litres) Are made from a synthetic material and are designed to provide
fire protection by smothering a fire. As shown two release cords provide easy access. The
blanket is used on fat and cooking oil fires. They can also be used as personal protection
where the blanket can be wrapped around a person whose clothing is.
Blankets (Available in 1mx1m to 1.8m x
1.8m) Are made from a synthetic material and are designed to provide fire protection by

Regulatory Checks and Maintenance
We are able to carry out surveys and quotations for your fire protection requirements. Our
engineer will visit your premises at your convenience to carry out a comprehensive survey,
and provide you with a quotation for your approval.
In order to comply with current Health & Safety legislation your fire extinguishers
must be serviced and maintained. We can offer maintenance contracts. Once a contract is
agreed we will schedule your service visits on our database. We will inform you when your
next service visit is due. This alleviates you, the client, from worrying about when your
equipment needs servicing and helps you to comply with current legislation.
